The Northstar Commuter Rail Line will begin service in November! It will run 40 miles from Big Lake to downtown Minneapolis. You will be able to travel to the airport, Mall of America & several destination in Minneapolis/St.Paul. The Andover area will use transit stations in downtown Anoka & near Riverdale Shopping Center. The City of Anodver has a short survey to determine if the residents are interested in transit to these commuter rail stations. The survey is short and only takes a few minutes to complete. It can be found at www.ci.andover.mn.us.

April 30 – May 2, 2009 (Thursday – Saturday) from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. the city of Champlin is having their annual city wide garage sale. Those who are interested in participating can register their home for $9. Registration incules advertising in the Champlin Dayton Press & includes your home on the FREE garage sale map. It does not include signs.

FREE maps will be available at City Hall, Parks & Public Works & several area gas stations after April 27th.

Anoka-Ramsey Community College has grants to cover half the cost of tuition on all non-credit courses up to $1200 for the unemployed. The college is supporting this program to stimulate the economy through education. Anyone who is actively receiving or has exhausted Unemployment Insurance benefits, and has documentation from the Minnesota Workforce Center, is eligible to take advantage of the half- priced tuition option. Andover Station's North Ballfield Facility is having it's grand opening on Thursday, April 30th at 6pm.  Improvements include 3 new baseball fields, parking lots, ballfield lighting for two of the fields, playground equipment a sliding hill and a new building that will have concessions and restrooms available. The Anoka Aquatic Center is scheduled to open on Saturday, June 6, 2009 (weather
permitting).

St. Francis is having a Business Spring Expo. It will be held Saturday, April 25th, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at St. Francis High School.
