Benefit Planned for Bridge Collapse Survivor
Monday, September 10, 2007
NMRA Member, Tom Hughes is a lucky one. On August 1, Tom was almost across the 35w bridge when it collapsed. His pickup truck flipped backward 21/2 time before landing on top of another vehicle.
Tom survived this horrific accident, but has significant injuries. Including three crushed vertebrae, a broken forearm, and a large cut that missed the main artery in his upper arm by only one centimeter. It will be some time before Tom can return to work as a real estate agent at Greater Midwest Realty.
A Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction will be held on September 13 at the Ham Lake VFW from 4-8 pm. Julie Braastad of the Ham Lake City Council is organizing this effort. They are looking for businesses to donate services, gift certificates, or money for the silent auction. If you would like to make a donation to the Dinner please contact Julie at 763-494-8985.
