The "bottom" prices will only be known for sure several months after the fact. No one predicted the spike in prices in 2005 until after the fact so what makes them think the "bottom" has hit.

Those who are able take advantage of the low prices will likely benefit down the road, but to claim they have knowingly purchased at precisely the bottom is unlikely. No matter what you have heard about the "bottom" of todays market, it is likely a best guess.
