*Be aware of surroundings and keep an eye on suspicious persons. 
*If shopping late in the day or after dark, park in a well-lighted area.
*Shop in pairs. There is safety in numbers.
*Keep your key in hand as you return to your car.
*Avoid carrying large amounts of cash.
*Don’t leave car phones, purses, CD cases or other items of value in view in a parked car. Also conceal previously purchased merchandise.
