Ramsey Happy Days

Ramsey's Annual Happy Days Celebration will be this Friday, Sept. 18 and Saturday, Sept. 19. The event kicks off with a Friday evening teen dance (5th to 8th graders) from 6:30-9pm at PACT Charter School, 7250 E. Ramsey Blvd.Admission is $3. Saturday morning at 9am is the Connexus Energy 5K and Kids Fun Run.Entry forms are available at www.ci.ramsey.mn.us or at city hall. There will also be a classic car show, 74 booths of craft fair/business expo, the farmers market, inflatable amusements, face pating, a performance from the Pinewski’s Drill Team, helicopter rides for a fee, bingo, a street dance with the Johnny Holm Band, and fireworks! Stop by and check it out!

On September 17th Andover Mayor, Mike Gamache will be camping on the roof of the Central Center for Family Resources. There are 6 other Anoka County Mayors taking part in this 2nd Annual Central Center RoofRaiser. The mayors have been challenged to raise a total of $18,000. The RoofRaiser will be held at Central Center’s main Clinic at 7954 University Avenue in Fridley from Saturday, September 12th-Saturday, September 19th.

Hay Days Grass Drags

The Hay Days Grass Drags is reputed to be the largest snowmobile event in the world and it is occurring on September 12th-13th. In addition to the races, there is one of the largest snowmobile swap meets you can find with many vendors. To many snowmobilers and snowmobile dealers, it has been the event that officially starts the snowmobile season.

Annual Harvest Fest

The Lord of Life HarvestFest is giving back to the community on September 12th and 13th. The event is free to the public. Stop by and experience a sense of community at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church’s parking lot, 14501 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey. Activities include: bingo, a spa, giant trike races, silent acuction, Fun Zone, Extreme Zone w/bungee jumpers and human bowling. There are serveral acts taking to the stage including: Will Hale and the Tadpole Parade, Cooper High School Step Team, Dancin' Feet Dance School, the Dodge Street Bandits, Rubber Soul, Tim Mahoney, and the Honeydogs. There is also an opportunity to give back by helping pack food for the Kids Against Hunger from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 12 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13.
