Spread Some Holiday Cheer!
During this holiday season, Anoka County social workers and public health nurses will work with about 300 parents who must choose between paying the electric bill and buying gifts for their children. Help make the choice easier for them – donate gifts through Anoka County’s Adopt-A-Family program.
It’s easy as 1-2-3:
1. Public Health Nurses & Social Workers identify families most in need & work with the families to create a wish list of items each family member needs, limiting each individual’s list to a $50 value.
2. You contact Anoka County at 763.422.7089 or Gayle.Alexander@co.anoka.mn.us to let us know what size family you would like to help (donors are encouraged to include a gift card for groceries and gas as well as individual gifts for family members).
3. After November 2nd , you will receive a detailed wish list for the family you’ve “adopted”, you shop for the designated items & return the gifts by Dec. 5th to the social worker/public health nurse listed on the referral sheet (feel free to call the assigned worker with questions).
This is a great opportunity for families, co-workers, youth groups and friends to actively celebrate the holiday season together. Give the gift of cheer this holiday season!
