Anoka County will be participating in its first Polar Plunge this February 11th at Crooked Lake. The Polar Bear Plunge is a cold dip into the frozen lakes around the area raising funds for the Special Olympics. According to an article in the ABC Newspaper, there are 235 people registered to plunge at Crooked Lake.

Tonight from 7:30pm – 8:30pm the Anoka High School Theatre presents “The Pirates of Penzance” at the Anoka High School. The play is a comic opera featuring a young man who has an apprenticeship with a band of pirates until he turns 21. He was born on February 29, so technically he only has a birthday every leap year.
