5 Ways to Improve Your Credit Score
We all know that having a good credit score is incredibly important when searching for low mortgage rates. Below is a list of five ways to improve your credit score & help you obtain lower rates when financing the purchase of a new home.
1. Pay your bills on time.
2. Don't open too many credit cards.
-Credit inquiries are made every time you open a new account.
3. Don't cancel your cards when you receive them.
-We've all been tempted to get those great deals on credit cards for an additional discount at the register. Cancelling the card once you receive it will erase your payment history--which is part of your overall credit score. Simply cut it up if you aren't going to use it.
4. Not all debt should be the same type.
- Debt spread out into credit cards, student loans, car loans & mortgages is better than all your debt on a credit card alone.
5. Monitor your credit score.
